Appearance: Maruishi is a tall, light skinned young man with messy, black colored hair, and gray eyes that are shadowed by his hat. He is seen wearing traditional japanese wooden sandals known as Geta, and a bucket hat which gives him the nickname, Hat and Clogs. He also wears a dark gray shirt and black pants with a white coat with a square pattern along its bottom half.
He is seen carrying a black and white fan which he occasionally uses to hide his face. During his years as a child, he wore the same kind of outfit, only he didn't wear the sandals, he wore the ninja sandals given to him.



Personality: Maruishi is usually seen as a laid back, jovial fellow. Maruishi also shows a deceptively cunning and serious side when the situation warrants it. He commonly uses idle conversation and outward concern as an act of distracting his opponents. Despite his care free attitude, he speaks very politely, but is sometimes sarcastic. The Koorikage noted one time that he tends to go over the top with whatever he becomes passionate about. He once described himself as a "mere honest, handsome, perverted businessman."

Approximately 15 years ago, when Maruishi was 20, his personality is the direct opposite of what he is today, showing changes from when he was accepted as the Tsuchikage. During his earlier years as a Jonin, he is viewed as a nervous, flustered and quite person. He is somewhat unsure of himself and lacks confidence in his ability to be a good leader. In addition, he is commonly shown to be very confused with how to deal with his team, and is overwhelmed by his advisor. However, he eventually hardens his resolve to take on his role as Tsuchikage by becoming more serious and determined.

He liked to build large underground training spaces when he was a child in the academy. It's due to his Kekkai Genkai.

Origins: Before he became Tsuchikage, Maruishi was raised in the noble household of the Saiseki where he was trained in the use of his Kekkai Genkai called Manipulation, meaning, he could copy techniques and make them into his own. It was a branch from the Uchiha and Hyuuga Clan Families. After awhile, he decided to join the ninja academy within Iwagakure. After joining the academy, he was accepted as a Chuunin immediately due to his smarts in the techniques of Ninjutsu, Genjutsu and Taijutsu. He trained as a Chuunin for 4 years and when he was 12, he became a Jonin. While he was a Jonin, his clan was attacked, he was helpless because he was outside of the village taking part in the 4th Great Ninja War against Madara Uchiha at the time. After his return, he found his clan was dead and he was the only one left. The Tsuchikage had passed away after this as well, leaving the village without a kage. The village suggested that Maruishi become the Tsuchikage. Nobody objected and Maruishi accepted. He has been the Tsuchikage for 23 years now.
